Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) Faculty of Fine Arts (FAF) Radio, Television and Cinema department third and fourth year students take part in the promotion team of the university. We asked the students who took part in the shooting and editing of department introductions, asynchronous lectures and university YouTube content, how this opportunity contributed to them:
Atakan Berkay Güler (Radio, Television and Cinema Department – 4th Year Student):
"Taking part in the promotion and shooting team of the university created the opportunity to experience the practices and techniques we learned in the lessons here, in the shootings. The fact that such an opportunity is offered within the university is a very important opportunity to apply what we learned together with our friends."
Anıl Cömert (Radio, Television and Cinema Department - 4th Year Student):
"We, as a group of 10-12 people, take part in the promotion and shooting team. We take part in the promotional videos of universities, faculties and departments within a program, shooting lessons of our teachers, and video content of social media accounts. We carry out the works in groups by following the existing calendar.”
Ece Öztatlı (Radio, Television and Cinema Department - 3rd Year Student):
"It is very enjoyable to be a part of the team and shoot together. Thanks to this opportunity, I both reinforced what I learned and learned new information. I am happy to have the opportunity to work while learning and to learn while working at the same time."
Berk Sönmez (Radio, Television and Cinema Department - 3rd Year Student):
"Being in the promotion and shooting team has been a good experience for us in terms of reinforcing the practices we have learned. During the pandemic period, we had to stay away from the shooting areas and equipment, as we could not continue our practical lessons, but this way, we were able to continue the practices. In this sense, it made a good contribution. "
