New paper presentation by Res. Asst. Eda Türkay!
Research Assistant Eda Türkay, an academic from the Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema at Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (GSF), presented a paper at the In Palace ISFF Conference held in Bulgaria.
Res. Asst. Eda Türkay, an academic from the Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema, presented a paper titled "Establishing Cultural Memory: Miu Miu Women’s Fairy Tales and Stane" at the 3rd In The Palace ISFF Conference held in Pernik, Bulgaria, on July 4-5.
In her presentation, Türkay discussed the theoretical background of the relationship between cultural memory and the culture industry. She shared her insights on the Miu Miu Women's Tales project, particularly focusing on the 26th film of the series, the short film Stane. Türkay examined Croatian director Antoneta Alamat Kusijanović’s short film Stane as an example of minor feminist cinema, highlighting the elements of cultural memory within the narrative. She discussed the advantages and/or disadvantages of the culture industry as demonstrated in the sample.
Res. Asst. Eda Türkay mentioned that participating in the conference was a highly enriching experience for her and that the Q&A session following her presentation was very productive.
