Let's Create Sustainable Sectors Social Responsibility Project, led by Res. Asst. Eda Türkay from the Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema in the Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), Res. Asst. Ayşe Seray Çetin from the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, and Res. Asst. Emel Çirişoğlu, concluded with its final session at Istanbul Gelisim University (İGU).
Let's Create Sustainable Sectors Social Responsibility Project, led by Res. Asst. Eda Türkay, Res. Asst. Emel Çirişoğlu, and Res. Asst. Ayşe Seray Çetin from the Departments of Radio, Television, and Cinema, and Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, respectively, took place under the title "Film Screening: Wasted! Story of the Food Waste". In the first two sessions, the project addressed sustainability themes in the gastronomy and cinema sectors. In the final session, through the documentary titled "Wasted! Story of the Food Waste", the aim was to convey the waste processes in the food sector and raise awareness among students. The screening, attended by first-year students from the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department, took place on March 19, 2024, at Cep Cinema, Room 393 in Block J.
Prior to the screening, Res. Asst. Emel Çirişoğlu, one of the project leaders, spoke to the students about the project's objectives. Referring to the first two sessions, Çirişoğlu emphasized the importance of both cinema and gastronomy sectors engaging in sustainable practices. She mentioned that they planned the final session to address the issue of food waste in the food sector through the documentary, believing that both sectors could support each other in raising awareness. Çirişoğlu wished everyone a pleasant viewing experience and started the session.
Following the documentary screening, students' questions were answered, and the session concluded with closing remarks from Çirişoğlu.

Let's Create Sustainable Sectors Social Responsibility Project is a social responsibility project that aims to create discussion environments to make production, production conditions and consumption habits sustainable in developed sectors such as gastronomy and cinema. The project aims to identify new suggestions that will make the sectors sustainable. It is hoped that the relevant movement will spread and grow during and after the project and that the suggestions developed will be put into practice.
