Kısa ve Yaratıcı Event Held with Intense Interest

The Department of Radio, Television and Cinema has previously produced “Kısa ve Düşünceli”, “Kısa ve Komik”, “Kısa ve Ucuz”, “Kısa ve Akademik”, “Kısa ve Toplumsal”, “Kısa ve Teknik” ve “Kısa ve Ayrılık”. The eighth of the "Kısa ve ..." event series, which brings together short film directors with students under the title "Kısa ve...", took place. Director Efe Subaşı was the guest of the event titled "Kısa ve Yaratıcı". The event, which attracted great attention, was held at Istanbul Gelişim University Pocket Cinema.

At the event moderated by Radio, Television and Cinema Department Head Asst. Prof. Dr. Emre Doğan, director Efe Subaşı told the story of his short film Mesafeler. Explaining the difficulties they experienced both during pre-production and on set and how they produced creative solutions to these difficulties, Efe Subaşı emphasized that the creative aspect of cinema emerges precisely when difficulties are encountered. Subaşı explained that he did not expect the success he achieved with his first film at the very beginning of the journey, but success comes with it as he puts things in order in the process, and gives examples of creative solutions he knows from different short and feature sets. The event, which was enriched with the speeches of Asst. Prof. Dr. Emre Doğan, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Kemal Çipe and Lecturer Kerem Yükseloğlu, academicians of the Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema, ended after a discussion on the relationship between cinema and games. The event, in which students actively participated, ended after a question and answer session.
