Produced by Res. Asst. Dr. Eda Türkay and written/directed by Ahmet Toğaç, Home Cooking (2024) is a 14-minute fiction short film focusing on family dynamics and the fragility of childhood dreams. The film follows Selma, a teenager whose plans to make homemade pizza with her mother and younger brother for her father’s birthday are disrupted when her father fails to make it home.
Starring Ece Bağcı, Ömer Gökay Şanlıer, and Nalan Kuruçim, the film features cinematography by Nusret Emre Bilgin, editing by Ami Mor, and music by Erdem Helvacıoğlu. Under the production of Eda Türkay, the film garnered attention in both national and international cinema circles and was screened at numerous festivals. Highlighting its festival journey, Home Cooking was showcased at various international events, most notably the Cinekid Festival in the Netherlands, and stood out with several awards and nominations.
