In the talk held in classroom number K-605 on Thursday, April 24, Visual Communication Design Department faculty member Asst. Prof. Rabiya Saltık Duvân addressed the participants with the title “Digital Security and Networks: How Can We Protect Ourselves from Cyber Threats?”
The talk addressed topics such as security risks individuals face in digital environments, protection of personal data, password management, social engineering attacks, security risks of public networks, and digital hygiene habits. Dr. Saltık Duvan emphasized that digital security is not just a technical area of expertise, and that all users should have basic knowledge.
The participants were informed about precautions that can be taken based on examples of cyber attacks that can be encountered in daily life. Practical information such as social media account security, two-step verification, distinguishing fake links and using reliable applications were at the forefront throughout the event.
The event, which attracted great interest from students, turned into an interactive event with a Q&A section. The event series, which is carried out under the theme of “Future Skills”, continues by equipping students with the skills of the future and addressing competencies in different areas in a multi-faceted manner.
