 "Beçin’den Mavi Vatan’a: Gazi Ahmed Bey" Shooting Continues!


Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, Department Head Asst. Prof. Dr. Emre Doğan's documentary project "Beçin’den Mavi Vatan’a: Gazi Ahmed Bey" supported by the General Directorate of Cinema of the Ministry of Culture, the shooting of the project continues.


Radio, Television and Cinema Department Head Asst. Prof. Dr. Emre Doğan’s documentary project "Beçin’den Mavi Vatan’a: Gazi Ahmed Bey", was among the 42 projects supported by the General Directorate of Cinema of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Selected among 178 projects, "Beçin’den Mavi Vatan’a: Gazi Ahmed Bey" depicts the Beçin Castle, the city of Beçin and one of the greatest commanders of Beçin, which was seen as a very important center by various civilizations and lived its brightest period during the Menteşe Principality. It focuses on Gazi Ahmed Bey. The history of Beçin, the revival of Beçin during the Menteşe Principality and the importance of Gazi Ahmed Bey in terms of the region and its history are the focus and main motivation of this documentary.

Shooting Continues

The shooting of the documentary, which will convey to the audience the Beçin Castle, the city and the commander of the city, which was revealed in detail as a result of Turkey's most important archaeological studies, continues at full speed. Stating that he hopes to produce a competent work that will satisfy everyone at the end of the process, Asst. Prof. Dr. Emre Doğan added that the documentary focuses on Beçin Castle, which has not lost its importance and prestige even today, and the commander of the city, Gazi Ahmed Bey.

Stating that students also took part in the shootings and working with his students in the festival and symposium teams he actively runs, Doğan added that he gives priority to students and is happy to work with them. Arda Yeniköylüoğlu, a student from the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, served as the camera assistant in the interview of Beçin Archeology Excavation Head Prof. Dr. Kadir Bektaş, which was shot at Istanbul Medeniyet University.
