 Asst. Prof. Dr. Önder Paker was a guest on the 'Artist' Program


Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) Faculty of Fine Arts (FAF) Radio, Television and Cinema department head Asst. Prof. Dr. Önder Paker was the guest of the program "Artist" on Meltem TV, presented by actor Raif Akyüz and featuring artists from different fields in each episode.


Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) Faculty of Fine Arts (GSF) Radio, Television and Cinema department head Asst. Prof. Dr. Önder Paker was a guest on the broadcast of the "Artist" program dated 23.01.2021.

Theater director, actor, writer and academician Önder Paker answered the questions of the presenter Raif Akyüz in the program broadcast on Meltem TV, in which experts in their fields were guests. Upon Raif Akyüz's questions about his theater career, Asst. Prof. Dr. Önder Paker talked about the beginning of his theater life at a very young age, even at an age that can be called a child, the period when he made radio voiceovers, his theater education and his academic studies in this field.

“Theater has always been in my life, ever since I knew myself. In school theaters, in radio voice-overs at a very young age, in theater performances… It was always there.”

Also writing plays, Raif Akyüz's questions on this subject, Asst. Prof. Dr. Önder Paker mentioned that as a playwright, he is mostly interested in biographies and gave examples of plays that deal with the lives of German poet Goethe and English poet Shakespeare.
 
After answering questions about theater directing, talked about the TV series Söz, Beauty and the Ugly, Confrontation, Bride from Istanbul, Payitaht Abdulhamid, whose Önder Paker played a role before.
 
Raif Akyüz's question about what kind of connection should be between the actor and the text, Asst. Prof. Dr. Önder Paker stated that the most important one is the role analysis and that in order to understand the text well, it is necessary to solve the dramaturgy well; He suggested that people who want to progress in this field should read a lot.
 
Mentioning that today, there is no such thing as the habit of going to the theater and the number of people going to the theater has not increased, Asst. Prof. Dr. Önder Paker commented on today's theaters and audiences.
