Ahmet Tevhid Kuzu, a 3rd-year student at the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, won first place in the GastroTech Poster Competition with his poster design titled “Layered Artificial Intelligence”.
The GastroTech Poster Competition, which was held as part of the Gastronomy Festival organized by Istanbul Gelisim University every year, attracted great attention. Ahmet Tevhid Kuzu, a 3rd-year student at the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, won first place in the competition with his poster titled “Layered Artificial Intelligence”.
First place with “Layered Artificial Intelligence”!
With the “Layer by Layer Artificial Intelligence” poster, Kuzu interpreted baklava, one of the symbols of traditional Turkish cuisine, as a data structure. Each layer represents a piece of cultural memory: a historical narrative, an emotional taste, a technical knowledge, or a line of code. While the golden dough layers on the top of the baklava visual in the poster represent tradition, the structures that become digital towards the lower layers show how the taste of the past evolves into the future. At the bottom, the text “Output: Baklava” expresses the result of this process in a humorous and clever way. The poster treats baklava not only as a dessert but also as a data package carried through the ages. Thus, traditional tastes become a learning material for artificial intelligence. With both its graphic language and conceptual infrastructure, this poster weaves gastronomy and technology layer by layer. Flavor and data are kneaded in the same dough. The visual in the poster was created with the support of artificial intelligence and edited by Ahmet Tevhid Kuzu. The idea, title and slogan on the posters belong entirely to Ahmet Tevhid Kuzu. In addition to his personal logo, Kuzu included the logos of Istanbul Gelişim University, Istanbul Gelişim University Faculty of Fine Arts, Istanbul Gelişim University Film Design Club and sponsors in the design.
