Asst. Prof. Rabiya Saltik Duvan delivered her presentation titled “Yapay Zekâ Üretimi Kısa Filmlere Yönelik İzleyici Yorumları Üzerine Bir Analiz: YouTube Örneği” at the 3rd International Short Film, Video and Photography Symposium.
In her study, Dr. Saltik Duvan emphasizes that artificial intelligence-supported processes—such as scriptwriting, visual generation, voice-over, and editing—are becoming increasingly common in the production of short films. She states that short films produced with AI and shared on widely accessed platforms like YouTube attract attention not only through their visual experience but also through the technical and aesthetic discussions reflected in audience comments. The study examines audience comments on AI-generated short films published on YouTube between 2024 and 2025 that have high user engagement. The main aim of the research is to analyze viewer attitudes, perceptions and evaluations toward AI-generated short films from both aesthetic and technical perspectives. The study is based on a qualitative research model. The sample was selected using criterion sampling. Accordingly, two short films that meet the following criteria were chosen: publicly stated to be AI-generated, high view counts, and intense user commentary. These films are: Battalion (2024) and The Bridge (2025). User comments on the selected short films were individually collected on July 14, 2025. At the time of data collection, 537 comments from Battalion and 456 comments from The Bridge were compiled to form the dataset. The comments were evaluated using thematic content analysis, through which meaningful themes and categories were generated via coding. Asst. Prof. Rabiya Saltik Duvan’s innovative presentation drew significant attention.
We congratulate Asst. Prof. Rabiya Saltik Duvan and wish her continued success in her academic work.
