Radio, Television and Cinema Department Head Asst. Prof. Dr. Emre Doğan's article titled "Defense of Modernity and Enmity of Postmodernity in Christopher Nolan's Cinema: The Tenet Example" was published in İnönü University Communication Faculty Electronics Journal.
Doğan evaluated the cinema of director Christopher Nolan, who broke box office records with his films such as Memento (2000), The Dark Knight Trilogy (2005, 2008, 2012), Inception (2010), Interstellar (2014) and Oppenheimer (2023), through the duality of modernity and postmodernity, and made his analysis specifically for Nolan's film Tenet, which was released in 2020.
In this study, Doğan evaluated Christopher Nolan and his filmography on the basis of modernity and postmodernity through the film Tenet, which was released in 2020, and tried to understand the way these two concepts are positioned in Nolan's cinema. Using the descriptive method in the study, Doğan utilized a cumulation of ideological, sociological and historical film criticism approaches in the film analysis phase.
We congratulate Asst. Prof. Dr. Emre Doğan and wish him continued success.
