The 2nd Harvest Time Short Film Festival, organized by the Radio, Television and Cinema Department and Film Design Club with the support of Cheyni, the external stakeholder of the department, took place on June 11 at the Mehmet Akif Ersoy Conference Hall.
The festival started at 10:00 with the Nadas session where the graduation films of the 2023-2024 year were shown. This was followed by the Films of Our Professors session where the short films produced by department academics Asst. Prof. Emre Doğan and Res. Asst. Eda Türkay were shown.
Simultaneously, the Screenplay Writing Workshop organized by Savaş Hamarat and the Special Effects, Make-up and Prosthesis Workshop in Cinema organized by Hazal Tanrıverdi hosted the participants.
In one of the two main competitions of the festival, the Harvest End: IGU Films Finalists section, films shot by students of the Radio, Television and Cinema Department competed, while in the other competition, the First Harvest: High School Films Finalists section, films from students from different high schools such as Mimar Sinan Fine Arts High School, Şişli Terakki High School and Robert College competed.
The awards found their owners at the 2nd Harvest Time Short Film Festival!
The award ceremony began with the opening speech of Istanbul Gelişim University Rector Prof. Dr. Bahri Şahin. Following this, the Department Head of the Radio, Television and Cinema Department Asst. Prof. Emre Doğan gave a speech in which he provided information about the festival and the department. Following the speeches, the Jury Prize for the Harvest End: IGU Films category, the Jury Prize for the First Harvest: High School Films category, the Best Film Prize for the Harvest End: IGU Films category, and the Best Film Prize for the First Harvest: High School Films category were announced, respectively.
The Harvest End: IGU Films category Jury Prize, announced by Rifat Özçöllü, the board chairman of the Apart Art Association, one of the external stakeholders of the department, went to Mustafa Uyduran for his film Blind Spot.
The First Harvest: High School Films category Jury Prize, announced by Assoc. Prof. Murat Doğan, one of the faculty vice deans, went to Barış Kuzey Yılmaz from Şişli Terakki High School for his film Kapı.
The Harvest End: IGU Films category Best Film Prize, announced by Prof. Dr. Şükran Güzin Ilıcak Aydınalp, faculty dean, went to Deniz Doğan for his film Gol.
The Best Film Award in the First Harvest: High School Films category, announced by University Rector Prof. Dr. Bahri Şahin, went to İlkim Dila Şahin with her film Psikedelia.
