The first phase of the social responsibility project "Birdhouses and Habitat Cleaning," led by Lecturers Minel Kurtuluş and Muhammed Said Erdemonar from the Interior Architecture Department, along with Lecturers Esra Büyükemir Karagöz and Cansu Sözer from the Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Department, has been completed.
In the first phase, held on October 17, students gathered for a workshop to design birdhouses. During this stage, they received the necessary training to design birdhouses that are both functional and aesthetically suitable and created their designs using various materials. In the second phase, the birdhouses designed in the workshop will be placed in suitable locations along Ambarlı Beach after a cleaning activity. During this stage, the beach will be cleaned, and birdhouses will be installed in the cleared areas.
The aim of the social responsibility project "Birdhouses and Habitat Cleaning" is to contribute to the protection of birds and natural life, instill environmental awareness in students, and promote social responsibility. Through this project, students will contribute to ecosystem sustainability by designing birdhouses and will aid in the preservation of nature by placing the designed birdhouses in suitable locations after the beach cleanup. Additionally, the project offers students the opportunity to develop environmental responsibility awareness and increase social engagement.
