Istanbul Gelisim University Faculty of Fine Arts held a comprehensive evaluation meeting to improve the quality of education and strengthen communication between students and administration. The session, held on April 9, 2026, was attended by the Vice Dean Assoc. Prof. Sezgin Savaş, Research Assistant Eliz Mutlu Tekay from the Department of Interior Architecture, and the faculty's student representatives and quality ambassadors.
Student-Focused Improvement Initiative
The main agenda of the meeting consisted of job descriptions, educational activities, and improvements to the faculty's infrastructure. Ideas were exchanged regarding concrete steps to be taken to solve sound insulation problems in classrooms and improve the physical conditions of workshops. The importance of student representatives actively participating in updating educational processes by directly conveying requests and suggestions from their departments to the administration was emphasized once again. In the meeting, where quality ambassadors also played an active role, projects that will raise the faculty's quality standards were discussed:
From Wood to Art Project: Technical information was provided about the exhibition area and organizational processes of the project.
Internships and Careers: New roadmaps were established regarding students' internship application processes and their follow-up.
Digital Communication Network: It was decided to establish unit-based WhatsApp communication channels to accelerate coordination between representatives and management. "Strengthening the Bridge Between Management and Students"
Assoc. Prof. Sezgin Savaş, in the meeting, drew attention to the importance of the job descriptions of department representatives and quality ambassadors, emphasizing the critical role of student involvement in management processes in the development of the faculty. The event, where the expectations of the representatives from the management were also listened to in detail, was completed with the creation of future work plans.
