Interior Architecture

Res. Asst. Başak LALE Successfully Completed Thesis Monitoring Committee

Continuing her studies in the field of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, Res. Asst. Başak Lâle examines the formation of a “dead end street”, one of the important elements of traditional urban morphology, from the perspective of interior architecture in her thesis. Focusing on the history and theory of architecture and interior architecture and working in this field since her graduate studies, Lâle expands her field study, which she previously conducted on Ankara, to the scale of Istanbul during her doctorate.

The jury committee of the thesis study, which was carried out under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Duygu Koca from Hacettepe University Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emre Demirel and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Umut Şumnu from Başkent University. At the committee meeting, Res. Asst. Başak Lâle presented her data on current field and archive studies and made evaluations about the process planned to be completed in the next stage. Başak Lâle shared her views on the committee process as follows:

“At this stage of my doctoral thesis process, which I am nearing the end of, it was very enjoyable for me to analyze previously undisclosed data related to the subject from the depths of the archives.”

We would like to thank Assoc. Prof. Dr. Duygu Koca, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emre Demirel and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Umut Şumnu, who were on the thesis jury, for their valuable contributions and wish Res. Asst. Başak Lâle success in her work.
