Lecturer Serenay İnceoğlu Started Her Doctorate Education!

Serenay İnceoğlu, Lecturer at Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FAF), Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design (English), started her doctorate education in Yıldız Technical University, Architecture History and Theory program as of the spring semester of the 2022-2023 academic year.

One more step to improve myself!

Lecturer Serenay İnceoğlu, who successfully completed the written exams at 11.00 and the oral exams at 13.00 on February 6, 2022, and was accepted to the doctoral program, said, “I feel very lucky to be a part of Istanbul Gelişim University and to be together with my students. Now I have taken one more step to improve myself and started my doctorate education." She expressed her feelings by stating that, "as an academician, it is just one of the things that should be done in order to touch the lives of students and to cultivate a better future."

The future cannot be built without looking to the past and learning from the past.

Indicating that the history of architecture is very important and better transferring it to students has an important place in her eyes, İnceoğlu said, “We know that the future cannot be built without looking at the past and taking lessons from the past. At this point, the Yıldız Technical University History and Theory of Architecture program, which I was accepted to, has an important place in my opinion in order to better convey the history of architecture to our students and to create suitable spaces by taking lessons from the past. I am very excited to have the opportunity to develop myself in this field and to share what I have learned with my students.”
