Interior Architecture students reach out to the world via Erasmus+: education and internship opportunities in Europe!

The Department of Interior Architecture within the Faculty of Fine Arts at Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU) continues to educate its students as globally competitive designers equipped with an international vision. Thanks to the Erasmus+ program offered by our university, Interior Architecture students gain the opportunity to pursue part of their education at leading European design schools or intern at architecture and interior design offices abroad.

Expansive Global Network with Over 450 Agreements Across 35 Countries

Istanbul Gelişim University holds more than 450 Erasmus+ Agreements and over 110 Non-Erasmus Bilateral Cooperation Agreements with 195 universities in a total of 35 countries, including 22 European nations. Furthermore, through 280 Bilateral Cooperation Agreements signed across 59 countries, Interior Architecture students can study at partner universities holding an ECHE abroad for 1 semester or 1 academic year, experiencing different architectural cultures firsthand.

Application Requirements for Student Mobility for Studies

The basic requirements for Interior Architecture students to apply for Student Mobility for Studies are as follows:

  • Academic Achievement (GPA): Undergraduate Interior Architecture students must have a Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 2.20 / 4.00, and graduate students must have at least 3.00 / 4.00.

  • Student Status: Applicants must be enrolled in formal education at IGU and have completed at least their 1st year. (Double Major / CAP students pursuing Interior Architecture can only apply through a single major.)

  • ECTS Workload: Students are expected to follow a course load equivalent to 60 ECTS credits for a full academic year, 30 ECTS credits for a single semester (or 20 ECTS credits for trimester systems) at the host institution.

  • Application Portal: Applications will be collected online via the Turna Application Portal during the announced application period.

Internship Mobility at International Architecture Offices (+10 Points Advantage)

Enabling students to gain professional experience within a partner enterprise or organization in another country for a period of 2 to 12 months, Internship Mobility is scheduled so as not to overlap with academic terms.

  • Additional Points Opportunity: Interior Architecture students who obtain a signed and sealed acceptance letter from the architecture/design firms where they will intern and upload it to the system during application receive an additional +10 points. (Applicants without an acceptance letter at the time of application are granted additional time to obtain the document if they qualify.)

  • Post-Graduation Internship: Senior students in the Interior Architecture Department can benefit from internship mobility within 12 months following their graduation date.

  • Language Proficiency: Applicants who do not possess a score of at least 60/100 from YDS, YÖKDİL, or ÖSYM-equivalent exams are required to take the Erasmus+ Foreign Language Exam administered by the university.
