Three separate projects, conducted under the consultancy of Asst. Prof. Dr. Gökhan Balcıoğlu, Lecturer Büşra Babacan and Res. Asst. Başak Lâle from the Department of Interior Architecture, received their certificates of appreciation at the Proud Launch.
The TUBITAK 2209-A University Students Research Projects Support Program project titled “Introducing Earthquake Safety Cages in Existing Buildings to Spaces with Aesthetic Approaches in Terms of Interior Architecture and Evaluation of Different Design Alternatives”, conducted under the consultancy of Asst. Prof. Dr. Gökhan Balcıoğlu and by department students Şenol Keskinçelik (Executive), Fatih Arslantürk, Kutay Kuru, has been completed. In this study, it is aimed to implement a safe room design that can be produced quickly regarding earthquakes, which are a reality in our country, and to ensure life safety in the event of a possible demolition without damaging the aesthetic perception and ergonomics of the spaces.
Lecturer The TUBITAK 2209-A University Students Research Projects Support Program project titled “Reflections of Climate Crisis Effects on Materials in Architecture: Tendency to Low Carbon Emission Materials”, conducted by department students Beyza Hacer Palut (Executive), Gökçe Atiş, Fatma Uluğ, Merve Acar under the supervision of Büşra Babacan, has been completed. Within the scope of the project, the impact of the construction sector on the negative situations we face due to the climate crisis has been examined and innovative approaches have been tried to be brought to material selection in order to reduce these effects. Examples of materials with low carbon emissions have been presented as alternatives to commonly used materials.
The TUBITAK 2209-A University Students Research Projects Support Program project titled “Reflections of Climate Crisis Effects on Materials in Architecture: Tendency to Low Carbon Emission Materials”, conducted by department students Bartu Emir Kaya (Executive), Ayşe Dilara Demircan under the supervision of Res. Asst. Başak Lâle, has been completed. Within the scope of this project, the February 6 Earthquake photo and video archive data will be analyzed in a way that questions the practices of the applied and trained interior architecture discipline, and application suggestions have been presented in the light of these analyses. Certificates of appreciation were presented to the completed projects at the IGU Proud Launch.
We would like to thank our academics Asst. Prof. Dr. Gökhan Balcıoğlu, Lecturer Büşra Babacan and Res. Asst. Başak Lâle who completed their projects, and our students Bartu Emir Kaya, Ayşe Dilara Demircan, Beyza Hacer Palut, Gökçe Atiş, Fatma Uluğ, Merve Acar, Şenol Keskinçelik, Fatih Arslantürk, Kutay Kuru, and wish them continued success.
