Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (GSF), Interior Architecture & Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Departments Summer Term project midterm juries took place in the Design Studio on the 14th Floor of the Tower during the 1-5 August Midterm Exam Week.
Lecturer İbrahim Erol was the director of the Design Studio V course, which was opened in the Summer Term, and  Lecturer Aslı Kırbaş was the director of the Design Studio IV. In the juries held in the design studio located on the 14th floor of Istanbul Gelişim University K Block (Development Tower) on 4 and 5 August 2022, the students presented their project works in different concepts. Res. Asst. Başak Lale, guest jury member of Design Studio V and Design Studio IV interim juries, expressed her thoughts on the completed presentations as follows:

“Interim juries of the 2021-2022 summer semester studio classes, which we are in the middle of, were held. In the summer semester, which is almost half the time of the fall and spring semesters, the projects that the students who came to the midterm exam level put to the jury were promising both for the final presentations and the academic future of the students. In their graduation project presentations, while the students were designing two different blocks, located in Caddebostan, with the functions they determined; They explained to the members of the jury their solutions that they connected these two masses to each other within the scope of their design ideas. In the Design Studio IV jury, the students designed the building, which is supposed to be located in Nişantaşı, which consists of a basement and two floors, according to a commercial function they determined. In the Design Studio V jury, which was the first jury, the students presented their plans, sections, drawings, as well as concept and material sheets to the jury, which included Lecturer Minel Kurtuluş, Lecturer İbrahim Erol and Lecturer Esra Büyükemir Karagöz. While similar outputs were presented to the Design Studio IV interim jury, we listened to the presentations of the students together with the studio's director, Lecturer Aslı Kırbaş. The juries were completed after the critiques were given for the detailed evaluation of each project and its implementation in future lessons. I would like to thank the participating students for this fruitful environment and Lecturer Aslı Kırbaş, Lecturer Minel Kurtuluş, Lecturer İbrahim Erol and Lecturer Esra Büyükemir Karagöz for their valuable invitations.”
