İstanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), Department of Interior Architecture Research Assistants Başak Lâle and Eliz Mutlu Tekay attended this year's "Turkey's Modern Heritage Agenda 2022/23" meeting as listeners, aiming to shed light on Turkey's modern heritage and facilitate the sharing of important data in the field of preservation, similar to the previous year. The second edition of the event took place online on April 5, 2024, and information about the meeting was shared by the docomomo_tr account as follows:
"The meeting addressed the conservation processes experienced by structures within the scope of heritage during 2022-2023 and the issues arising from these processes in two sessions titled 'Structural Assessment and Strengthening' and 'Legal Framework: Lost, Under Threat, Conservation Struggle.' It concluded with a panel where evaluations/recommendations would be discussed."
"Capturing the current issues, it is crucial for the dissemination of conservation awareness..."
Res. Asst. Eliz Mutlu Tekay commented on her participation in the exhibition as follows:
"In our country, conservation is still a subject that has not been fully focused on, and a common language has not been developed. With the Modern Heritage Agenda meeting, we had the opportunity to examine completed studies on heritage structures over the past year and to participate in a platform for sharing views. Especially since both Başak Hocam and my areas of study are related to interior architecture/architectural history and conservation, the meeting was very productive for us. We thank everyone involved in organizing and participating in this beneficial event."
We thank Res. Asst. Başak Lale and Res. Asst. Eliz Mutlu Tekay and wish them continued success...
