The 4th April 15 World Art Day Online Group Exhibition met with art enthusiasts
The fourth "April 15 World Art Day Online Group Painting Exhibition," which has become a tradition at Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), Department of Graphic Design (GRA), has opened. With more than 170 applications accepted, the exhibition brought together works from many different disciplines, ranging from painting and sculpture to tile ceramics and graphic arts.
April 15 World Art Day, celebrated worldwide as the birthday of Leonardo da Vinci, was crowned with a special event under the roof of Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU). Organized for the fourth time this year by the Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), Department of Graphic Design (GRA), the "World Art Day Online Group Painting Exhibition" turned into an interdisciplinary art feast.
Taking firm steps towards becoming a tradition, the exhibition received great interest this year with over 170 applications. Works produced with different techniques such as painting, sculpture, tile, ceramics, and graphic design met the audience in a digital environment. Highlighting the unifying power of art, this event succeeded in gathering different art disciplines on a single platform.
Valuable academics representing the Department of Graphic Design also participated in the exhibition with their works, including Prof. Dr. İsmet Çavuşoğlu, Prof. Dr. Metin Kuş, Prof. Dr. Aysun Cançat, Assoc. Prof. Nuri Sezer, Asst. Prof. Erdem Çağla, and Res. Asst. Dr. Ceren İren. The project, supported by the artistic productions of the academic staff, served as a source of inspiration for students and young artists.
