Many participants from different fields such as researchers, artists, architects, musicians, writers, radio programmers, conductors and poets are expected to contribute to the 17th edition of the Biennial, which started on September 17, with individual and collective works. It is known that the projects of participants from different parts of the world will be exhibited in different districts within the scope of the biennial. The Biennial curator, determined by the international advisory board, has a say in the selection of the projects to be exhibited. The biennial curator invites various artists and projects to the exhibition in accordance with the theme he developed.
The Biennial takes place with free exhibitions in districts such as Beyoğlu, Kadıköy and Zeytinburnu. In addition, in many districts of the city; speeches, open-air shows, guided tours, movie screenings, and performing arts activities will also take place. At this point, it is also known that different alternatives will be offered to the audience, and that there will be digital and physical access to nearly 200 poems of many poets, various podcasts, poetry readings and interviews.

In order to register and participate in the events organized within the scope of the Biennial free of charge, one can register at the registration desks in the Biennial venues or digitally. At the biennial, stories on many different topics such as gastronomy, ecology, literature, food security, immigration and marine life await its visitors.
Activities Continue as Part of the Biennial's Public Program & Learning Programs
Within the scope of the biennial's public program & learning programs, "Mother(x) and "Both Ground / Both Time" - I", "Memory Methods", "SAHA Studio Talks", "Poetry Line Panels: Poetry and Printing", "Screengraphy and Binding Workshop" , “Panel: State of Displacement: Tangled Topographies”, “Bread and Puppet Theater and Cengiz Özek: The Evils of Our Society” are planned to take place.
GSF Students Are Scheduled to Attend This Year as Well
Students of Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts, Graphic Design and Fashion and Textile Design Departments participated in the 16th Istanbul Design Biennial in 2019 and had the opportunity to examine the works in the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Painting and Sculpture Museum. At the Biennial, Fine Arts Faculty students closely observed the works that examine the destruction of nature, climate change, human intervention to nature and the interaction of this process with humans. Fine Arts Faculty students are expected to take part in the biennial this year as well.
