The exhibition catalogue prepared as part of the “Symposium and Group Exhibition on Social and Human Sciences in the Era of Sustainability: Environmental Change and Transformation,” organized in collaboration between Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU) Faculty of Fine Arts and STA Kongre, has been published. Bringing together the artistic works presented during the event held on September 23–24, 2026, the catalogue offers interdisciplinary perspectives on sustainability and environmental transformation.

Bringing together the fields of social sciences, humanities, art, and design, the event provided a platform for examining environmental change not only from an ecological perspective but also in relation to its social, cultural, and artistic implications. The group exhibition, held concurrently with the symposium, explored themes such as human–nature relationships, urbanization, ecological awareness, cultural memory, and sustainable living practices through diverse forms of artistic expression.

Curated by Lect. Ph.D. İrem Fulya Özkan, a faculty member of the Department of Graphic Design at IGU Faculty of Fine Arts, the exhibition featured works by artists and academics from various universities. Employing a wide range of artistic techniques, including digital design, photography, textile surface design, wood relief, pyrography, and video art, the works interpret environmental change and transformation from multiple perspectives. The catalogue presents the artists’ biographies, artwork images, technical specifications, and artistic statements in both Turkish and English.

Comprising 29 pages, the catalogue not only documents the works presented in the exhibition but also highlights the conceptual and creative approaches adopted by the participating artists in addressing sustainability. Key themes explored throughout the works include the conservation of natural resources, the environmental impacts of human activities, reuse practices, and the evolving relationship between nature and technology.

As a significant outcome of the academic and artistic collaboration between IGU Faculty of Fine Arts and STA Kongre, the publication aims to preserve the exhibition’s visual legacy and make the featured works accessible to a broader audience. By emphasizing the role of art in raising awareness of environmental challenges, the catalogue also serves as a lasting reference resource for researchers, academics, students, and art enthusiasts.

The “Environmental Change and Transformation in the Era of Sustainability” Exhibition Catalogue is available for viewing through the official STA Kongre website at www.stakongre.org.
