İpekyolu Atatürk Art Gallery, which was opened in the city center by the İpekyolu Municipality of Van, opened with a national exhibition on August 30, 2021. 51 artist academicians working in the fine arts faculties of our country participated in the exhibition.
Ipekyolu Municipality of Van put the city's first and only art workshop, İpekyolu Atatürk Art Gallery, into service with a magnificent opening. In addition to basic municipal services, İpekyolu Municipality, which has brought a different perspective to service understanding in many fields from art to sports, from education to cultural activities, opened the first art gallery of the city, 'İpekyolu Atatürk Art Gallery', into service with an enthusiastic and wide participation. The opening of İpekyolu Atatürk Art Gallery, which was established on Cumhuriyet Street, was attended by Van Yüzüncü Yıl University (YYÜ) Faculty of Fine Arts Deputy Dean Dr. Instructor Member Mehmet Göktepe, deputy mayors, directors of institutions and citizens attended.
Noting that the city of Van will be remembered with art from now on, District Governor and Deputy Mayor Sinan Aslan said, "As Atatürk said, 'A society without art means that one of its lifebloods has been cut off'. I wanted to build these places with this slogan, we produced these projects with our colleagues with this slogan."
After the speech, the protocol cutting the opening ribbon of İpekyolu Atatürk Art Gallery followed the magnificent fireworks display. The program, which continued with a tour of the art gallery, ended with an opera and music concert. On the other hand, art lovers who were happy to open such a gallery in Van thanked İpekyolu Municipality.
