Research Assistant Dr. Ceren İren, a faculty member of the Department of Graphic Design at Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), opened a solo painting exhibition at the University of Ioannina (UoI), one of the prominent educational institutions in Greece. The exhibition brought together the artist’s insect-themed print works, which she has particularly focused on in her recent artistic production.
Aiming to highlight the delicate balance between nature and humanity, İren approaches insect figures not merely as aesthetic elements but as a conceptual space to contemplate the fragility, continuity, and diversity of nature. By employing printmaking techniques with an experimental perspective, she offers viewers both a visual and intellectual experience through the unique effects created on different surfaces.
The exhibition, hosted by the University of Ioannina, holds great significance as it took place in an academic setting. It not only reflected Research Assistant Dr. Ceren İren’s identity as an artist but also underscored her academic role, contributing to her successful representation of IGU abroad. During the exhibition, İren also met with the university’s art community and students, delivering a talk on her creative process and the conceptual background of her works.
The Department of Graphic Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Istanbul Gelisim University, continues to support its faculty members in presenting their artistic and academic works to international audiences. The exhibition realized by Res. Asst. Dr. Ceren İren at the University of Ioannina marks a valuable contribution to IGU’s international collaborations and cultural exchanges.
As the Faculty of Fine Arts, we sincerely thank our esteemed colleague, Res. Asst. Dr. Ceren İren, for successfully representing our faculty at the international level.
