Prof. Çavuşoğlu also successfully represented Türkiye at the 12th International Small Format Biennial held in Pleven, Bulgaria, from October 16 to November 26, 2024. This special biennial featured works limited to a size of 60 x 60 cm, and Prof. Çavuşoğlu’s piece was selected by the jury during the evaluation process in July 2024. Works from artists representing countries such as the USA, Canada, the United Kingdom, Italy, France, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Lithuania, and Bulgaria, among others, were also presented to art enthusiasts at the event.
The Pleven Biennial was organized in collaboration with the Bulgarian Ministry of Culture, the Bulgarian Union of Artists, the Pleven Municipality, and the Pleven Art Gallery and Sculpture Museum. Featuring hundreds of works in disciplines such as painting, graphics, and sculpture, the event drew significant attention from the art world with its wide range of participants. Additionally, the works showcased during the biennial were documented in a comprehensive catalog, ensuring they reached a broader audience.
Such biennials play a crucial role in fostering international art dialogues, highlighting cultural diversity, and sharing the universal language of art. Türkiye's participation in these platforms strengthens its position in the art world and enhances its recognition on the global stage.
As Istanbul Gelisim University, we congratulate our Faculty of Fine Arts faculty member Prof. İsmet Çavuşoğlu for successfully representing our country in the international art world and extend our gratitude to him for his valuable contributions.
