Prof. Dr. İsmet Çavuşoğlu featured in Bulgarian media

The exhibition in Sofia by Prof. Dr. İsmet Çavuşoğlu, a faculty member at Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU) Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), Department of Graphic Design (GRA), has received extensive coverage in the Bulgarian art press. In an analytical review written by art expert Dr. Rossitsa Gicheva-Meimari, Çavuşoğlu’s works were described as a "musical-visual symphony."

In an article published by Enakor, one of Bulgaria’s leading art platforms, the academic and artistic journey of Prof. Dr. İsmet Çavuşoğlu across the Sofia, Istanbul, and Boston axes was analyzed. Dr. Meimari defined the artist's style as "visual art built with the logic of sound, in pursuit of an inner rhythm," drawing attention to the acoustic depth the works offer to the viewer.

The report noted that in works such as "Epidaurus, Greece," Çavuşoğlu presents the ancient past with a contemporary rhythm, while in pieces like "Rhythm of Blue" and "Vibrations," he reflects the energy of modern metropolises onto the canvas through vertical lines. This multi-layered approach by the artist was evaluated as a cultural bridge stretching from the Balkans to America.

The central theme of the article focused on the philosophy of Prof. Dr. İsmet Çavuşoğlu—who has held academic and administrative positions within the IGU Faculty of Fine Arts for ten years—stating that "art is a global field of freedom." The success of the artist, which has reached a global scale with over eighty solo exhibitions, was met with great appreciation in the Bulgarian art community.

As the Department of Graphic Design, we congratulate our esteemed professor, Prof. Dr. İsmet Çavuşoğlu, for successfully representing our university in the international arena and for being featured in the world press by blending his academic knowledge with artistic depth. We wish him continued success.
