New research article by Asst. Prof. Dr. Erdem Çağla, a member at Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FAF), Graphic Design Department (GRA), entitled “The Use of Templates in Logo Design: An Example of IBBTV Logo” was published on November 30, 2022 in the JSHSR: Journal of Social & Humanities Sciences Research’s ninth volume, issue eighty-nine.

İBB corporate logo usage was examined

Emphasizing that the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality has moved to a different party in the local elections of March 31, 2019, Çağla stated that there have been radical changes in some organs of the municipality after this development, and that the logo of IBBTV, which has been broadcasting for a long time with the changing manager and design team, has also changed within the scope of these changes. Çağla underlined that the new logo has received a lot of criticism due to its graphic design features and that there have been discussions on it, noting that no original work has been done and the use of templates, in other words, the use of templates are the prominent points of criticism. Stating that the new IBBTV logo and the revised logo that emerged after receiving criticism were analyzed in his work, Çağla pointed out that the issue was discussed within the framework of ethics and law.
