Joint International Art and Sustainability Exhibition in the Metaverse by IGU FFA and Gökkuşağı College

Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA) and Gökkuşağı Cambridge International Schools have launched "Colors of the World: 1st International Culture, Art, and Sustainability Exhibition," merging art with technology. Held both physically and online, the exhibition is now open to art enthusiasts in the Metaverse.

The 29 years of educational experience of Gökkuşağı Cambridge International Schools has combined with the academic strength of Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) for an extraordinary project. Held under the academic sponsorship of the IGU Faculty of Fine Arts, the “Colors of the World: 1st International Culture, Art, and Sustainability Exhibition” has transcended physical boundaries into the Metaverse.

Abdülkadir Gayretli, Chair of the Board of Trustees of Istanbul Gelisim University, highlighted the innovation aspect of the project: "As one of the universities with the highest number of patent registrations in Türkiye, we are extending our vision of technology and innovation to the level of primary and secondary education. This exhibition demonstrates our commitment to providing youth with a global vision by blending art and technology ." Furthermore, the academic support from IGU—which ranked 1st in Türkiye for citations per paper in the QS Europe 2026 rankings—reflects the international educational quality (IB & Cambridge) across Gökkuşağı Schools' 8 campuses.

Nur Betül Gayretli, Board Member of Gökkuşağı Cambridge International School Antalya Campus, commented on the power of art combined with technology: “The fact that our students are addressing environmental awareness within the Metaverse is the most concrete fruit of our 29-year vision.” Within the scope of the exhibition, works were created to draw attention to endangered species such as Caretta Carettas, aligning with UNICEF’s sustainability goals.
