Graphic Design Department Students Will Participate in “Brand Week Istanbul”

Within the scope of "Brand Week Istanbul", which will take place for the tenth time this year, the "Portfolio Meetings" event is held between 09-11 November 2022 in order to bring creative students together with the leading companies of the sector. This year, Istanbul Gelisim University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Graphic Design Department 2nd year students Yağmur Kocabaş, Naela Arnaout, and 4th year student Zeynep Sevda Ilgaz applied to the event. The portfolios of the students were evaluated by the Brand Week committee and qualified to take part in the event.

“I feel very proud and happy to have been selected by the Brand Week committee.”

Emphasizing that she created a portfolio for the first time, Naela Arnaout underlined that she was careful to make all her works neat and stylish. Stating that she is not waiting for his portfolio to be approved because she is still in the second year, Arnaout said that she was happy to be among the sixty selected and invited all students to participate in activities and competitions. Emphasizing that winning or losing is unimportant, she added that the main thing is to learn and meet new people.

“I think that such events will add important experiences for our future and education life.”

Yağmur Kocabaş, who conveyed her thanks to Lecturer İrem Fulya Özkan, who was the design team coordinator during the application process, expressed her happiness about the positive outcome of the application process, which is her first experience. Stating that she is excited to take part in the event, Kocabaş noted that participating in such competitions for business and education life is an important source of experience.

“These kinds of events offer the opportunity to show our talents to professionals.”

Emphasizing that the application process is relatively easy since she is a fourth-year student, Sevda Ilgaz emphasized her happiness about the positive result of her application. Ilgaz stated that it is an important opportunity to meet with the leading names of the sector and to be able to present a portfolio to these people, and underlined that she is excited to have the opportunity to develop herself and show her talents to professionals.
