The exhibition, nourished by different artistic disciplines, consists of works produced with an interdisciplinary approach that expands the boundaries of graphic design. Featuring works from various fields such as painting, illustration, typography, digital art, video, installation, and new media, the exhibition highlights the significance of artistic production among academics.
The faculty members of IGU Faculty of Fine Arts Graphic Design Department contribute to the art scene not only through education but also by actively engaging in artistic production. This exhibition, titled Atonal, emphasizes the importance of freedom and individual expression in art by going beyond traditional rules. Just like in atonal music, where there is no fixed harmony or conventional structure, this exhibition presents multilayered and independent narratives created through each artist’s unique approach.
The participating faculty members include Prof. Dr. İsmet Çavuşoğlu, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aysun Cançat, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Metin Kuş, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Özel, Asst. Prof. Dr. Nuri Sezer, Asst. Prof. Dr. Erdem Çağla, Res. Asst. Ceren İren, Res. Asst. Dilara Mataracı, and Lect. İrem Fulya Özkan.
Bringing together the artistic productions of scholar-artists, the exhibition demonstrates that graphic design education is not solely limited to technical knowledge but evolves into diverse forms of expression through artistic creativity. Art enthusiasts can visit the exhibition online via Artsteps Gallery until March 26, 2025, and explore works from different disciplines.
