Faculty members of the Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA) continue to represent our university in nationally impactful art events. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aysun Cançat, a faculty member in our Graphic Design Department, made an important artistic contribution to this year’s Marmara Urban Forum (MARUF) event.
The group exhibition titled “Looking at Marmara at the Edge of All Possibilities,” which included the illustration work of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aysun Cançat and was created with the participation of over 20 artists, was presented to the audience as a special selection of the Istanbul Illustration Days. The exhibition offered an interdisciplinary perspective by interpreting the environmental, urban, and cultural dimensions of the Marmara Sea through various illustration languages of art.
This special selection, exhibited during MARUF at the Haliç Congress Center between October 1 and 3, was highly appreciated by a wide audience, including urban planning experts, academics, students, and art enthusiasts. The artists’ approaches to the Marmara theme built an artistic bridge with the forum's main topics.
We congratulate Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aysun Cançat for successfully reflecting our university's artistic vision by participating in such a comprehensive and important group exhibition, and we wish her continued success in her work in the field of art and design.
