Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) Faculty of Fine Arts (GSF) Graphic Design Department Instructor Member Aysun Cancat participated in the international mail art exhibition 'Adjusting' held in Ireland between 25 September - 4 October 2020 and her work was included in the exhibition catalogue.
'Adjusting - Creativity and Environmental Crisis' is an international postal art exhibition. This exhibition, the role of the artist in the face of environmental crises, is one of a series of ongoing projects created to confront these crises. In the context of creativity and environmental crises; There are questions such as the processes and results of artistic creativity, what the artist can do as a citizen, how he contributes to the world in times of crisis and offers perspectives. The event was designed by a group of artists based in the village of Kinvara on Ireland's west coast. This group produces a variety of events, exhibitions, performance and media projects in interaction with communities and individuals. This exhibition also aims to expand beyond Kinvara and Ireland to the whole world and connect with physical productions.
Concerns in January 2020; was on the impact of global warming, pollution and environmental degradation. Towards the end of February, a more pressing threat emerged in the world: Covid-19. This exhibition emphasizes the role of the artist in these moments of change and crisis in the world and a common sensitivity in a universal integrity. The works of the artists participating in the event are next to an exhibition; cataloged and archived for educational use in schools and communities.
