 Assoc. Dr. Nuri Sezer's Solo Illustration Exhibition Opened!

Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) Faculty of Fine Arts (GSF) Graphic Design Department Instructor Member Nuri Sezer's Solo Illustration Exhibition was opened at Gelişim Art Gallery.

Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) Faculty of Fine Arts (GSF) Graphic Design Department Instructor Member Nuri Sezer's solo illustration exhibition "December 6, 2021" opened at Gelişim Art Gallery. The exhibition was curated by Gelişim Art Gallery coordinator Prof. Dr. Performed by İsmet Çavuşoğlu.

The opening speech of the exhibition, which includes Sezer's recent works, was made by Prof. Dr. İsmet Çavuşoğlu and Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts Prof. Dr. Şükran Güzin Ilıcak Aydınalp made it. In his speech, Çavuşoğlu evaluated the past and the meaning of the art of illustration in the context of Sezer's illustrations. Emphasizing that digital works require great eye sensitivity, Çavuşoğlu drew attention to Sezer's versatile identity. It is possible to see the intense participation and interest in the exhibition as a reflection of Sezer's art practice spanning years.

While exhibiting a colorist attitude in his works, Sezer creates a unique world of his own with his nuanced approach to details. The symmetry created by the reflections draws the viewer away from stillness, while the dance of dissonance colors draws the eye to the composition.

In the words of the artist;

“The most active and memorable source of communication in living things is visual activation. Illustration is a branch of graphic design, there is a cross-cultural connection in illustration. An illustration that carries the common values of cultures is very effective on the people with whom it communicates.
I also tried to make different visual designs by cutting the works in half by using the concept of symmetry in the illustrations I made. Believe me, sometimes five or six different images came out of a work. We saw that different visuals were created by having my students apply it at school. I draw the illustrations by hand, color them on the computer, and then open exhibitions with digital prints on various materials and present them to the imagination of the audience.”

Opening a colorful and endless door in the dream world of the buyer, Sezer carries out his academic and artist identity together and continues his works in his studio in Istanbul.
