Research Assistant Dr. Dilara Mataracı, a faculty member of the Department of Graphic Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Istanbul Gelisim University, has published her article titled “Comparative Garden Art in Western and Eastern Cultures: Palace Gardens” in the International Journal of Communication and Art.
In her study, Mataracı approached the concept of the “garden” not only as a natural arrangement element but also as a cultural and aesthetic form of expression. The article, which compares palace gardens in Western and Eastern cultures through their architectural design, reveals the perception of nature and aesthetic preferences of different civilizations.
Emphasizing that gardens have been an important element reflecting cultural identity throughout history, Mataracı examined garden design in both artistic and architectural contexts, highlighting its role in cultural interactions.
