Accessible Stamps Exhibition, curated by assoc. Prof. Dr. Nuri Sezer, opened at AKM!
The “Accessible Stamps Exhibition,” prepared in collaboration with Hayatı Engelsiz Paylaşım Association, Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Büyükçekmece Municipality, and PTT, opened at the Atatürk Culture Center (AKM) on December 3, 2025. The exhibition, curated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nuri Sezer, showcased posters designed in stamp format by Graphic Design students, which were audibly described for visually impaired individuals via QR codes.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nuri Sezer, a faculty member of the Graphic Design Department at Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), has initiated an important social responsibility project. The “Accessible Stamps Exhibition” met art enthusiasts at the AKM on December 3, in observance of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
The exhibition, curated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sezer, features original poster designs by IGU Graphic Design students. The exhibition maximized the accessibility of visual arts by enabling the posters to be audibly described with AI support via the QR codes embedded on them. The description and voiceovers were performed by Aslıhan Volkan.
One of the exciting aspects of the project is that a selected poster from the exhibited works will gain the right to be printed as an official stamp. The exhibition will remain physically open at the AKM until Friday and can also be viewed virtually.
