The short film Cennet, which was executive produced by Asst. Prof. Emre Doğan, an academician from Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (GSF), Radio, Television and Cinema Department, received short film production support from the Ministry of Culture.

Asst. Prof. Emre Doğan, who undertook the executive producer of Cennet, one of the projects that was awarded the Ministry of Culture's Short Film Production Support this year, one of the most important production support in the field of short films, made a name for himself in the field of cinema with both his academic and sectoral works after his short films called Deniz Halleder (2011), Badana (2013), Değer (2018), Sonsuz Zaman İçinde (2019) ve Çoktan Seçmeli (2019). Taking part in the committees of short film festivals and serving as a jury in many festivals, Doğan has also achieved success with many projects he has undertaken as producer and executive producer. One of these projects, Cennet is a fictional short film project directed by Berk and Mert Sata brothers.

Berk and Mert Sata, who developed Cennet after their Düzen (2013), Bakış Açısı (2014), Yönetmen (2014), TABU’T’ (2014), 7/70 (2014), İhtimal (2015), Kapı (2015), Feyk (2015), Mutavva (2019), Çerçeve (2020) projects, continue their work on the project after the support they received from the Ministry of Culture.

Asst. Prof. Emre Doğan, who took part in the project as the executive producer, shared his views on the project and the process of finding support:

“First of all, we were very happy that Cennet, which is quite different from the short film culture that has been built and manifested in Turkey, especially in recent years, and has a unique scenario, received support from the General Directorate of Cinema. Because we had serious concerns about the 'understandability' of the script. I am almost certain that the Sata Brothers will accomplish much greater things in the future, and I am sure that they will cope with this task with great success. In addition, the fact that we received positive feedback from big production companies such as TAFF in the search for a producer of the film doubled our joy. I hope we will succeed in accomplishing an outstanding job that will meet the audience at festivals in the coming years.”

We congratulate Asst. Prof. Emre Doğan for his success with his projects.
