Technical Aspect of the Short Film
Director of Photography and editor Bulut Bardak was the guest at the event, which was moderated by Emre Doğan. Bardak, who works as a cinematographer and editor in short films, focused on the technical side of short film production. Bardak talked about what tasks the teams took on the set of the short film, the operability of technical issues, and what stages were passed in the production of a short film, and underlined that the creation process was based on serious technical work. Bardak, who also advised the students who produced short films in the event, where the students showed great interest, talked about the possible problems that may be encountered on the set and their solutions.
“Sound Is One Of The Topics That Need To Be Considered The Most”
Sound engineer and sound designer Yiğitcan Kiremitci was the guest of the workshop titled “Sound Design Workshop” organized within the scope of Çarşamba Workshops. Kiremitci, who recorded and mixed sound in many movies, short films, and documentaries, talked about the definition of sound, the wave physics behavior of sound, and basic concepts such as sound intensity, loudness, frequency, speed, and timbre. Referring to the separation of digital and analog sound, Kiremitci shared the historical development of image and sound synchronization with the students by conveying the arrival of sound to the cinema. Kiremitci, who gave explanations of the concepts of sound and vocalism such as soundtrack, foley, diegetic, and non-diegetic, introduced sound equipment and microphones. Differentiating the sound recording processes in production and post-production, Kiremitci concluded his speech by underlining that sound is one of the subjects that are given the least importance in every project, but one of the most important issues.
The activities came to an end after questions and answers.
We would like to thank Bulut Bardak and Yiğitcan Kiremitci for sharing their valuable information with us.
