 Tin (Spirit) is in the TRT Future Communicators Competition!


The short film Tin (Spirit), directed by Muhammet Emir Akarslan, a fourth-year student at Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, became a finalist in the TRT Communicators of the Future Competition.


Muhammet Emir Akarslan, a fourth-year student at the Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema, became a finalist in the short film project Tin, which he directed. Fourth-grade students took part in the film crew. The festival journey of the film, produced by Hüseyin Bilgekaan Koçer, assistant director by Bedia Zerin Hökenek, art director by Sümeyye Özyurt, lighting chief by Eslem Özgüç and sound technician by Beyzanur Yüksel, continues. The film, which previously won the Lift-Off Sessions - Pinewood Studios selection, was among the ten films that made it to the finals in the TRT Future Communicators Competition.

Journey of a Soul: Tin (Spirit)

In the TRT Future Communicators Competition; Muhammet Emir Akarslan, applied to the short film category with his movie Tin (Spirit) among the categories of radio program, radio drama, radio documentary, animated film, documentary film, short film, video news, video content, website, social media management, internet news, podcast and communication campaign. , passed the elimination rounds, and made it to the finals.

The film, which opens with a routine day for Birtan and Parya, a lonely couple in their mid-forties, changes direction when Bertan dies as a result of an accident. Bertan's spirit continues to live in the house with Parya and the viewer begins to follow a spirit. The film completes a cycle when Bertan's soul is destroyed by accident.

Muhammet Emir Akarslan, the scriptwriter and director of the film, stated that he revealed the flow of the story by focusing on the imaginary draft of a story he wanted to tell for a long time. Stating that he then started to design the details that he hoped would leave a mark on the audience, Akarslan added that he used metaphors for this purpose and worked carefully on the color palette, music, and frames.
