 The First of the Stars in the Vision Interview Series was Held with the Title of Movie and TV Series Music


The first of the Stars in Vision interview series organized by Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU) Faculty of Fine Arts (FAF) Radio, Television and Cinema Department was held with the participation of Ali Akaçça, Jale Kibritçioğlu and Doruk Somunkıran under the title Film and TV Series Music.


The first of the Stars in Vision interview series organized by the Radio, Television and Cinema Department of Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU) Fine Arts Faculty (FAF) was held on 06.03.2021 with the title of Film and TV Series Music.

Sound engineer, mixing, mastering, scoring specialist, composer and arranger Doruk Somunkıran from AJ Music Production team, composer and lyricist Jale Kibritçioğlu and pianist, composer, arranger and music producer Ali Akaçça were the guests of the interview. Asst. Prof. Dr. Önder Paker assumed responsibility.

The event, which was open to the participation of all university students, included the stage at which the musical processes for a film or TV series begin, what kind of interaction it takes to work with more than one person in the creative process, what kind of steps are taken in the creation process of a composition, what kind of path is followed in the field of music editing, the definition of arrangement and arrangement. scope was discussed. Opportunities in music education in Turkey and what can be done to improve these opportunities were discussed. In addition to the digitalization processes in music, the importance of making live music and knowing musical notes, and the movies and TV series with the best music in the history of cinema and Turkish TV series were emphasized. The cinema, television and music sectors, which are affected by the pandemic period, were mentioned and the projects planned for the next period were mentioned. It has been mentioned that there is not enough awareness about allocating a budget for music in cinema and television. It was discussed how music has a meaning for the audience in a movie or series, and the effect of the director and music producer on this meaning.

The event, in which a productive conversation was held in the field of film and TV series music, ended with the answers to the questions of the students. We would like to thank Ali Akaçça, Jale Kibritçioğlu and Doruk Somunkıran for sharing their competent knowledge with us.
