As the first step of the lifelong learning process, Istanbul Gelişim University Fine Arts Faculty Interior Architecture Department aims to train interior architects who can produce efficient, original, sustainable, new concepts, furniture and designs by transferring the professional cultural and social knowledge they have acquired since the beginning of their language education. For this purpose, the curriculum has been formed at a level that will enable them to have a successful career with theoretical and practical courses and compulsory summer internships. For this purpose, the Department of Interior Architecture provides the acquisition of the artistic skills and perspective required for the interior architecture profession through intensive drawing lessons from the beginning of the undergraduate education. Then, with computer aided drawing programs, it is ensured that sufficient gains to meet their professional needs are obtained.
Drawing is a language of expression for the profession of Interior Architecture. In our department, our students are provided with the opportunity to acquire this language of expression necessary for their professional life, after the start of their undergraduate education, with our intensive applied curriculum from the first grade. With the accreditation process, our curriculum has been arranged in a way that will enable them to become well-equipped interior architects who can use all the drawing methods necessary for their professional life, by adapting to today's conditions, having a good command of computer-aided drawing programs, so drawing ability is not an obstacle for the Department of Interior Architecture.
In our department, in addition to compulsory applied courses such as Basic Art Education, Visual Expression, Interior Design Studies, Interior Architecture Studio, Furniture and Graduation Project, there are also applied courses from many different disciplines in the elective pool.
In addition, in the Elective Course Pool; Smart Buildings, Mobile Living Units, History of Architecture and Interior Architecture, History of Urbanism and Urban Planning, Advanced Graphic Expression Techniques, Environment of the Future, Professional Practices, Universal Design, Project Management and Cost, Survey, Urban Analysis of Istanbul, Lighting Technologies, Aesthetics And Creativity, Concept And Design, Color And Its Use In Interior Architecture, Showcase And Fair Stand Design, Advanced Visual Expression Techniques, Interior Textiles, Conservation And Restoration, Construction Site Management, Acoustics, Design And Branding, Future Materials, Interior Architecture Professional Practices. With the vocational elective courses of the Interior Architecture and Interior Architecture Environmental Design Departments, the opportunity to develop in the fields of interest is provided. Due to the fact that the elective course pool is created jointly with the other departments of the Faculty of Fine Arts, it is also possible to turn to the courses that will feed different areas of interest without any conditions.
