İrem Özpınar completed her undergraduate education in 2017 at the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Architecture, Erciyes University, and then completed her master's education in 2023 at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Department of Architecture. Throughout her undergraduate education, she participated in various research and projects. After graduation, she worked at an architectural office specializing in public space designs from 2017 to 2021; at an architectural office in Australia from 2022 to 2023; and as an architect on a construction site for a hotel project at the end of 2023. In 2021, during her master's education, she served as a scholarship holder in a TÜBİTAK-1001 project; also in the same year, she worked as a researcher in a Scientific Research Project (BAP-Type B) conducted at MSGSÜ. After starting her doctoral education in 2023 at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Department of Architecture, she began her duty as a Lecturer at Istanbul Gelişim University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design.
Lecturer İrem Özpınar expressed her views on her academic career starting in the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design as follows:
