The second step of the social responsibility project "Unity in Diversity at IGU" carried out by Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), Departments of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design (Tr&Ing) took place on 26 December 2023. In the project carried out by Res. Asst. Ezginaz Kara and Res. Asst. Mustafa Dallı, students of Turkish and English departments painted mandalas together to convey the message of "being whole with differences". This inclusive workshop aimed to raise awareness on the subject.
"Celebrating differences, encouraging empathy, and emphasizing the richness that comes from diversity among individuals who bring society together is the main idea of our project.
The main message intended to be given in the workshop organized for "unity in diversity" of the social responsibility project organized by Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (GSF), Departments of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design (Tr&Ing) was explained by the workshop coordinators in the following statements.
"To develop empathy and understanding between people from different ethnic backgrounds, to emphasize the richness of different cultures, backgrounds, and experiences, and to celebrate this diversity." The project aims to enable students to better understand each other and respect different perspectives through this approach. With this project, we believe that we will shed light on the idea of being one with our differences without discriminating between different languages, religions, races, and cultures."
