The first session of the eleventh "Interior Architecture Talks" organized by Istanbul Gelişim University Interior Architecture and Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Departments took place on 23 May 2022 at J Blok Mehmet Akif Ersoy Conference Hall at 11.00 with the participation of Hüseyin Aykut Ustaoğlu and Mehmet Hacıosmanoğlu.
The conversation started with the opening speech of Assoc. Prof. Zerrin Funda ÜRÜK, Head of the Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Department, then introduced the speakers by reading their resumes.
To touch on the biography of Hüseyin Aykut Ustaoğlu; After graduating from the university as a civil engineer, Ustaoğlu worked as a field engineer, site manager, and project manager in domestic and international projects. While working as an engineer at Sinop State Hydraulic Works, he founded Zeybe Decoration with his partner on ready-made kitchens, ceramics, and home decorations. In 1998, he started to work as a facade engineer at Seranit A.Ş. for the installation of porcelain tiles on facades with aluminum systems. Ustaoğlu, who left his position in 2018 by working as a regional sales manager, project manager, and assistant general manager, took part as a solution partner in domestic and international projects by developing new products and new facade systems in his twenty-year working life at Serenity. Joining the newly established Goo Trend A.Ş. in 2021, he carries out the product development, sales, and marketing of Permanent Molding Systems and Ceramic Tile Flooring Systems produced under the Gooplast brand.

In his presentation, Hüseyin Aykut Ustaoğlu talked about Plastic Formwork Systems, which he took part in the production process as a sustainable alternative to architectural building elements. Ustaoğlu touched upon the titles of Sustainability, Plastic, and Plastic Molding Systems in his presentation. He defined sustainability as meeting our own needs while not compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs. He pointed out that the main purpose of sustainability is to reduce the consumption of non-renewable resources. In the next title, Plastic, he talked about what comes to mind when we say plastic, the definition of plastic, the place of plastics in our lives, and the recycling and reusability features of plastic. In the last title of his presentation, he talked about the product of the Gooplast brand, where he carries out the product development and marketing works of Plastic Molding Systems. Talking about construction formwork systems, their types, and their importance, Ustaoğlu expressed in items what should be considered when choosing formwork systems. He drew attention to the fact that plastic molds ensure that material waste is prevented during the foundation-laying process. Then, he explained the technical features and application stages of the product through the photographs of the application examples. Ustaoğlu completed his presentation after explaining the details about the product on the products that our students brought to the conference hall.
After the completion of the presentation of Mehmet Hacıosmanoğlu, which was the second session of the talk, the interview ended after the questions were answered.
