Res. Assist. Mustafa Dallı Attended Incites Platform-Research Performance/Journal Citation Reports Training As Part Of The Web Of Science Program

Leading the world of academic literature and being one of the most important sources in academic evaluation and research, "Web of Science (WOS)" provides citation reference scanning with content from more than 250 science, social sciences, arts humanities disciplines. Research Assistant Mustafa Dallı attended the training, which was held online on November the 15th, 2021 at 11:00am and 04:00pm where this platform was introduced. While the first session of the training focused on the InCites platform, research performance, strategy and collaboration issues and how it should be used for effective literature review, the second session focused on topics such as SSCI, AHCI and SCI-indexed journals and how to find the best journal for the articles were discussed. The training started by explaining and introducing the use of the Web of Science Core Collection. Afterwards, it continued with the profile of the researcher, conducting secure research, literature review, the use of the InCites platform, and the introduction of how to find the most appropriate journal in your field. What needs to be done in order to work successfully in these areas is explained in detail, item by item. Later, it was mentioned how this process should work. It was underlined that determining which journal is suitable for the study as well as the importance of the study itself and its subject is also important for a successful study process.

Research Assistant Mustafa Dallı, who participated in the training, made the following comments on the subject:

"As an individual who continues his master's education and therefore his academic career, this education has led me to look at many subjects with a more detailed perspective. because the point that was insistently underlined throughout the education process was that the selection of the appropriate article is as important as starting to write the article, choosing the topic or doing the field study. The introduction and use of the InCites platform, which is an evaluation system used for scientific and academic purposes based on the performance in scientific publications, was also explained. In addition, it was emphasized that it is very important to scan the SSCI, AHCI or SCI indexed journals related to our field and to conduct a literature review from there. ıt has been a very informative training that I can possibly use in this long academic process ahead of me and highlights the important points that I will be paying further attention to.
