Assoc. Prof. Dr. Metin Kuş, the Department Chair of Graphic Design at Istanbul Gelişim University, Faculty of Fine Arts, engaged with academics and art enthusiasts at the 18th International Scientific Research Congress organized by Ankara Science University, presenting his paper on "Impacts of New Exhibition/Viewing Spaces and Design Processes on Visual Arts."
In his presentation at the congress, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Metin Kuş discussed the evolution of visual arts and the effects of new exhibition/viewing spaces on the design process. Kuş critically examined paradigms related to how art is exhibited and viewed, evaluating developments in the art world.
If an explanation is to be made regarding the new exhibition/viewing spaces for visual arts today, it is crucial to note that visual arts have evolved, becoming a significant factor in shaping exhibition and viewing spaces and influencing design processes. In addition to the traditional gallery and museum approach, the development of digital technologies has provided the opportunity to present artworks in new and interactive platforms. Artists are expanding the classical exhibition experience by showcasing their works not only in physical spaces but also in virtual environments, offering viewers a different perspective on the artworks and enabling art to reach broader audiences. Furthermore, the changes in the design processes of exhibition spaces contribute to enhancing the interaction between artworks and viewers, transforming art into a more personal and poignant experience. These developments indicate significant transformations that allow visual arts to reach a universal and diverse audience more effectively.
We congratulate Assoc. Prof. Dr. Metin Kuş on his paper presentation and wish him continued success.
