From Theory to Practice During the Summer: Interactive MAXQDA Training
Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (GSF), Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, Res. Asst. Emel Çirişoğlu and Res. Asst. Ayşe Seray Çetin participated in the online training called “MAXQDA Summer School”!
The training on the use of the “MAXQDA” program, which is a Professional Data Analysis Software program for Qualitative & Mixed Methods, which is frequently used in many different fields, was organized by a private company between 19 July and 20 August. The training, which was held as a summer school, was held in a total of ten sessions, each online. In all sessions held, besides transferring theoretical knowledge, the opportunity to practice was created. In order to enable practice, homework files created by the instructor were sent to the participants at the end of each lesson. In addition, at the end of each lesson, a time period was reserved for the participants and the instructor to exchange questions and answers. Thus, the participants were given the opportunity to talk about the assignments, ask questions and share information, and a more interactive educational environment was provided. With the training carried out, it was ensured that the participants increased their knowledge and experience in terms of both theory and practice, and gained competence in the use of MAXQDA.
In the MAXQDA Summer School Training, many different sessions were designed to contribute to the participants' ability to increase their competencies about the relevant program. The order and names of the sessions held are as follows:
1. A Basic Introduction to MAXQDA
2. Coding Qualitative Data - 1
