In the interview, which is the first remote conference jointly organized by the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design and the Department of Interior Architecture, Lecturer Yagiz Yakın talked about the place of analogy in the process and the importance of physical and functional integrity in analogy, the problems caused by staying away from natural life and natural areas in human life, the role of designers in analyzing these problems and producing solutions to these problems, the inspirations of nature and living things in nature and recycling processes, sustainable design processes, nanotechnology, and nanomaterials, design.
Lecturer Yağız Yakın focuses on topics such as the "Biomimicry" approach, which seeks sustainable solutions to man-made challenges by imitating the time-tested patterns and strategies of nature and making a comprehensive presentation by analyzing various works of art, architectural structures, and technological tools developed by being inspired by nature and living things in nature in different fields such as art, design, engineering and medicine from history to the present.
Photovoltaic panels inspired by the creatures in the ocean, bricks that absorb air pollution and transmit light, architectural structures inspired by the skeletal system of vultures, automobiles whose technological features are inspired by the biological characteristics of different fish species in the ocean, Olympic stadiums inspired by birds nests, lighting elements where we observe the traces of crustacean forms are some of the examples examined in the interview.
