Within the scope of the CRP-4501 coded "Fundamentals of Housing" course, Research Assistant Gökçe Uzgören's Ph.D. thesis titled "Political Economy of Short-Term Accommodation Platforms: The Role of Airbnb in the Hyper-Metalization of Housing", conducted in Beyoğlu Cihangir Neighborhood, and the impact of short-term rental platforms on communities in cities, the tourism industry and the housing market. The lecture was followed by a question and answer session with the students.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Penbecioğlu from Izmir High Technology University, Faculty of Architecture, Department of Urban and Regional Planning also attended the lecture and shared his valuable opinions and suggestions about his PhD thesis.
