The Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), organized a comprehensive "Internship Orientation" program to facilitate students' processes of gaining sectoral experience. The orientation was held in two separate sessions: the first part for English program students on Friday, March 6th, and the second part for Turkish program students on Monday, March 9th, in the K Block studio 1401. Within the scope of the meeting, technical and administrative briefings were provided regarding the compulsory internship work that students must complete before reaching the graduation stage. The presentation focused on critical topics such as the internship application calendar, official documents to be uploaded to the system, insurance entry procedures, and how to fill out the internship notebook in accordance with academic rules. Furthermore, the criteria for evaluating the files prepared by students at the end of the internship and the grading processes were detailed.
Domestic and International Internship Opportunities Examined
In the orientation, not only local firms but also the different procedures to be followed by students wishing to intern abroad were addressed. While the roadmap from the application stage to the submission of documents was explained step-by-step, potential problems that could be encountered during the internship and their solutions were shared with examples. In this way, it was aimed for students to carry out their professional practice processes in a more planned, conscious, and error-free manner.

In the final part of the event, an interactive question-and-answer session was held. Questions regarding finding an internship placement, professional responsibilities, and internship exemptions were answered by the department faculty members.
